The study focuses on teachers‘ problems with online learning during the COVID- 19 Pandemic at SMA N 4 Magelang. The objectives of this research are (1) to explore the obstacles found by English teachers in online teaching during Pandemic at SMA N 4 Magelang (2) to discover how the teachers solve the problems in online teaching English at SMA N 4 Magelang. The research method used is qualitative research in the form of a case study. The research instruments used are interviews and observation. The subjects of this study are four SMAN 4 Magelang teachers. The finding shows that not every student has access to necessary resources, such as smartphones or laptop computers. Online learning necessitates a consistent internet connection to function properly. If access and infrastructure are limited, teachers cannot compel students to participate in online learning. Punishment is extremely ineffective, particularly in this pandemic situation and the use of online learning. During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers at SMA N 4 Magelang used a problem-solving technique to discipline students. The teacher will communicate with the students personally and relay their concerns to the homeroom teacher. The student must be true because it is critical to their character development. The problems of online learning severely limit the teacher's ability to complete the E-report. Through private chat, the teacher will assist students with reading comprehension and vocabulary. Building character of the students is more important than grades in terms of preparing for their future.
