SKRIPSI KEMAMPUAN ARRESTER UNTUK PENGAMAN TRANSFORMATOR PADA GARDU INDUK 150 kV
An overvoltage is a voltage that can only be withheld for a limited time. Lightning overvoltage is a periodic overvoltage caused by external causes (External Over Voltage). Arrester is an installation safety equipment from overvoltage disturbances due to lightning strikes (Lightning Surge) or by circuit surge (Switching Surge). The power transformer/transformer serves to distribute power/electrical power by increasing or decreasing the voltage at the substation. This research focuses on substation equipment, namely arrester type X AR 170 A1/162 which is connected to a transformer (transformer) Il type DRF 31.5 275. Good protection is obtained when the arrester is placed as close as possible to the transformer clamp. However, in practice the arrester must be located at a distance S from the protected transformer. Therefore, this distance is determined so that the protection can take place properly. The distance between the arrester and the transformer used in the 150 KV substation is 3 m. The placement of the arrester (S) is influenced by the transformer clamp voltage (Ep) of 715 KV, the arrester splash voltage (Ea) of 650 KV, the steepness of the incident wave (A) of 1000 dv/s, and the speed of wave propagation (v), because the wave travels the airbre has a constant speed with the same speed as the speed of light, which is 300 m/udi (Hutauruk, 1991: 2).
