SKRIPSI INTEGRATING DIGITAL CLASSROOM IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: KIDBLOG AS A MEDIA FOR ENHANCING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ WRITING

As the one of English productive skills, writing also can be seen as a tool for communication beside speaking. A good writing can make the information and knowledge are delivered well to the reader. The students have to create and develop the ideas in order to make a good writing. Beside creating and developing the ideas students have to consider the rules of English. The writer conducted a preliminary study and found that the students’ recount text writing ability was still low and the students had low motivation during teaching and learning process. To overcome the problems the writer utilize technology and chooses Kidblog as a media to help students improve their ability in writing. This research is purposed: (1) to know whether Kidblog media integrate the digital classroom can rise students’ learning motivation in writing recount text of high school students (2) to describe whether Kidblog media integrate the digital classroom enhance students’ skill in writing recount text of high school students. The type of this research is classroom action research (CAR). There were four steps of CAR that had been done in this research; Planning, Acting, Observing and Reflecting. In order to collect the data, this research used non test and test techniques. The techniques of analyzing data that used were quantitative data and qualitative data. The subject of this research was the students of grade X of MIPA 1 in SMA N 3 Magelang. In this research, the writer measured students’ motivation through obervation and questionnaire, and the result shown that there was increased of students’ motivation in learning process. The writer conducted tests in Pre-Cycle test, Cycle I test, and Cycle II test. The average of the Pre-Cycle test was 67.54, the average score of the Cycle I test was 71.8, and the average score of the Cycle II test was 76.05. There was 80 % of the students or more than 75 % as the writer targeted were motivated in learning after using Kidblog, therefore, this media could be used to rise students’ motivation. Based on the result shown Kidblog media integrate the digital classroom could enhance the recount text writing skill of the tenth graders of high school students.
