According to the writer’s observation, the tenth graders of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Mungkid still do not understand well about narrative text material such as generic structure, language features and kinds of narrative text, there is no available yet the attractive learning media of narrative text writing material on the tenth graders, the students need to learning media which more attractive to be used and can make the students well understood about the narrative text writing material. This research was focus on developing narrative text writing material using Example Non Example Strategy for tenth grade appropriate to students’ need. The design of this study was Research and Development. The writer developed narrative text writing material using Example Non Example Strategy with Addie’s model as a guide to build the material development. The writer used the developing procedure according to ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The writer used interview and questionnaire to collecting the data. Based on the data result, the development of narrative text writing material using Example Non Example strategy with ADDIE model was very eligible for the material and eligible for the media. The material was very eligible to be used in teaching learning process, the data showed that the average score was 82% , the score included into very eligible category. The media was eligible to be used in teaching learning process, the average score showed 75% and it belonged to “eligible” category. The writer concludes that the development of the narrative text writing material using Example Non Example Strategy with ADDIE model had increased students’ interest in the learning material. This product of material development was made the students’easier to understand the material given. The writer suggest that the development product of narrative text writing material using Example Non Example strategy for the tenth graders can help the students understand easily the material presented and help the teacher in the learning process, this product can be used as English learning material in teaching narrative text.
