SKRIPSI THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COGNITIVE DOMAIN IN LEARNING ACTIVITIES REFLECTED ON LESSON PLANS OF ENGLISH TEACHERS

Nowadays, the lesson plan is not only used to help teachers in teaching and learning process, but also its content should have a high quality. Based on this problem, in arranging learning activities on the lesson plan, English teachers need to apply cognitive domain to guide students in making an intellectual teaching activity and help them to develop their knowledge and critical thinking. Through cognitive domain, learning activities will be more effective. Thus, it can improve and develop the quality of students, especially in cognitive skill. This research focuses on the implementation of cognitive domain in learning activities on lesson plans of English teachers. There are two objectives of this research. First, it is investigate the level of cognitive domain in learning activities on lesson plan made by English teachers. Second, it is to know how the implementation of cognitive domain in learning activities on lesson plans made by English teachers of SMAN 2 Magelang in the school year 2020/2021. This research applies descriptive qualitative. The writer selects and investigates 18 lesson plans from 4 English teachers of SMAN 2 Magelang to become research subject. The data were analyzed by using checklist then described the data. For additional information, the writer conducts interviews to all of the teachers about the deeper explanation related to their lesson plans. This research has two results. There are 6 level of cognitive domain in learning activities reflected on lesson plans of English teachers in SMAN 2 Magelang in academic year 2020/2021. They are remembering (C1), understanding (C2), applying (C3), analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). Almost all level of cognitive domain based on Bloom taxonomy revised by (Anderson L.W. et al., 2001), has already implemented randomly by English teachers. The average implementation of cognitive domain from teacher 1 is 80.18%, from teacher 2 is 76.67%, from teacher 3 is 83.32%, and from teacher 4 is 72.23%. In suggestion, the writer suggests that English teachers should understand and implement all cognitive domain level in every learning activity because the process of teaching and learning activities will be more attractive.
