SKRIPSI PERSONAL PRONOUN USED IN NARRATIVE TEXT WRITTEN BY THE TENTH GRADERS OF SMA SHOLIHIN BANDONGAN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021

Writing is one of the English skills which has an important role for the students to make their writing easily understood by the reader, especially in meaning, so it can be said as good writing. Understanding the meaning of someone's conversation is a little difficult especially if the hearer does not understand the context of the conversation. It is the same as when the students write a text because if students do not understand what they are writing, the reader will also not understand the context of the text that students make. For example, the theory of personal pronoun. Without understanding the theory, misconceptions in communication can occur which will cause discomfort between the speaker and the hearer or the writer and the reader. The existence of personal pronoun can be found in one of the narrative texts. There are two objectives in this research; the first is to know the personal pronoun used in narrative text written by the tenth graders of SMA Sholihin Bandongan. The second is to find out the most frequently personal pronoun used in narrative text written by the tenth graders of SMA Sholihin Bandongan. The writer conducted descriptive qualitative research. The writer used the documentation method for collecting the data. In this research, the writer collects the data in form of text, the text that were used in this research is narrative text. The writer decides to analyse personal pronoun used in narrative text written by the tenth graders of X MIPA in SMA Sholihin Bandongan. Based on the data result, kinds of personal pronoun used in narrative text written by the tenth graders of SMA Sholihin Bandongan are 196 words of Subjective Pronoun, 81 words of Objective Pronoun, 82 words of Possessive Adjective Pronoun, and 10 words of Reflexive Pronoun. The writer does not find any Possessive Pronoun in the narrative text. Therefore, there are 369 words of total personal pronoun in the 24 narrative texts. The writer concludes that the most frequently types of personal pronoun used in the narrative text written by the tenth graders of SMA Sholihin Bandongan was the subjective pronoun by 53.1%. The writer suggests that this research hopefully can help the students to understand the importance of personal pronoun in narrative text, so the students can write well and understand the content of their texts after knowing about personal pronoun.
