SKRIPSI STUDENTS’ INTERACTIVITY DURING ONLINE LEARNING OF ENGLISH STUDY PROGRAM TIDAR UNIVERSITY IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/2021

The change of face-to-face to online learning causes several changes in the learning process. It make students have to be more active in participating in online learning. One crucial aspect of online learning is students' interactivity. Interactivity is an essential aspect of successful online learning and students' motivation for their learning process. It holds a significant role in determining the quality of online learning. The purposes of this research were (1) To find out how students’ interactivity during online learning in English Study Program Tidar University in Academic Year 2020/2021 (2) To find out the factors that influence students' interactivity during online learning in English Study Program Tidar University in Academic Year 2020/2021. This research was qualitative research with case study methods. Data collection in this study used observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The subjects of this study were the sixth-semester students of the English Study Program at Tidar University in the Academic Year 2020/2021 from skill class 3, which amounts to 26 students in Critical Reading course, along with the lecturer. The results showed that some students made interactions with friends, lecturer and content because they had a high willingness to initiate interactions, a supportive lecturer, fun learning, and a highly competitive spirit. However, some students did not have enough interactions with friends, lecturer, and content because of several things, including students' low willingness to initiate interaction, the poor internet connections that hindered interaction, students were bored with monotonous online learning, students could not solve their difficulties in interacting with content., and students worked part-time so they were not optimal participate in learning. In addition, regarding the factors influenced students’ interactivity, it was found that social presence, structure and feedback influenced students’ interactivity during online learning.
