Education is a well-planned and intentional action to transfer knowledge and value to others. Throughout the program, the students’ behavior, output, work, competence, and performance should be evaluated. Evaluation is an essential aspect of the education process. Moreover, there are several methods to get the data for evaluation in the learning process; one is by using a test. Therefore, a test should meet the good requirements of a test, such as an item validity and functioning distractor. In finding the need for a good test, there should be an evaluation activity through item test analysis. In considering the importance of item test analysis, this present study is intended to reveal in-depth the quality of English Summative test items in MAN 1 Magelang. The objectives of this study are (1) To identify the item validity of the English Summative Test of Online Teaching-Learning and (2) To assess the frequency of functioning distractors of the multiple-choice English Summative Test of Online Teaching-Learning. The subject of this study is the analysis of the item validity and distractor analysis of the English summative test. Meanwhile, the object of the study is an English summative test item. The researcher applied quantitative descriptive as the suitable method for this study. In this research, the documentation technique was used to collect the data. In the analysis item validity phase, the writer applied the point biserial by Arikunto (2007:79) and calculated the value through Microsoft Excel. Meanwhile, the item distractor analysis, the writer used the Arikunto (2006) theory and calculated the value through Microsoft Excel and SPSS 25. The significance of this study showed that the English summative test for second-grade of MAN 1 Magelang was categorized as a good test based on the item validity (empirical validity) and the functioning distractors. The data showed that 46 valid items and 184 functioning distractors were found in the items tets. According to this finding, the items test has good quality in terms of empirical validity, and the functioning distractor should be saved into the question bank. In contrast, the items which do not meet the excellent and non-functioning category can be revised or declined from being used in the future test.
