English is one of the foreign languages taught in Indonesia. In this country, English is one of the main subjects taught continuously, from elementary school, junior high school, senior high school until college. Teaching English to students who are non-native English is indeed quite difficult. Students are required to learn four skills, including writing skills. Writing is one of the language skills that students must master. Mastery of academic writing skills remains one of the biggest challenges for university students. In this study, the writer investigated the lecturer’s difficulties in using “ELITA” platform media to teach writing skills of UNTIDAR Educational Institution. The writer chose this topic because the writer sees that some lecturers in the English Department find it difficult when teach writing skills using “ELITA.” This investigation was conducted to know the lecturer’s difficulties in using “ELITA” platform media to teach writing skill of UNTIDAR Educational Institution. This investigation was also conducted to know the lecturer’s difficulties that are most dominant in using “ELITA.” The aspects looked into was the difficulties of lecturers in using “ELITA” to teach writing skill and the solutions to that problems. Furthermore, the method that the writer used in this study was a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were six lecturers from the Department of English Education who teach writing. All in all, the writer concluded that there is a variety of difficulties that writing lecturers faced in teaching writing skills using “ELITA.” The lecturer’s difficulties in using “ELITA” platform media to teach writing skill of UNTIDAR Educational Institution came from internal and external factors. Meanwhile, the lecturer’s difficulties that were most dominant in using “ELITA” was from external factors namely; 1) the absence of socialization about the use of new media technology, (2) concerning about security issues on the internet, (3) concerning about students’ access to technology, and (4) poor internet access and networkingninsidenorooutsidettheuuniversity.
