According to the syllabus and curriculum of 2013, one of the basic competences that should be achieved in the first year of Junior High School is that the students have to be able to produce a written simple Descriptive Text. However, in the learning practice, the students feel bored with the use of the learning media that less interested and that’s affected to their writing skill result. In this digital era, there are so many technologies that can be utilized to enhance the learning process, and one of them is Augmented Reality. According to the review of previous study, there are several lessons that has been implemented this technology as a learning media and give a good impact, however it has not implemented as a learning media to teach descriptive text writing. In relation with the problems as explained above, this research intended to fulfil three objectives. First, knowing the extent to which the “BING Augmented Reality” application is needed for tech writing of the descriptive text. Second, to explain the process of developing the “BING Augmented Reality” application for tech writing of the descriptive text, and the last is measure the feasibility level of the product. This study belongs to the research and development (R&D) adopted the ADDIE development model by Dick and Carey (1996). This study carried out three stages; analyzing the students’ and teacher’s need through the learning media to tech the descriptive text writing, designing the product, and developing the product. In the development stages, the product was validated and revised. In the analysis stage, the result show that the seventh grades students and the English teacher at SMP N 36 Purworejo expected to have a learning media based Augmented Reality technology. Besides, in the design stage, the design of the BING Augmented reality with the guide book was made. Lastly, the design was developed become a product and then validated by two media and material experts. The BING Augmented Reality application to teach the descriptive text writing skill is considered very feasible of being used, the percentage of feasibility score of the product is 88,6 %. Besides, the results from both validators that recommend this product is worth without revision is made this BING Augmented Reality application ready to be implemented.
