SKRIPSI THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE TEACHERS’ TEACHING PERFORMANCE WHILE IMPLEMENTING THE LEARNING PROCESS AND THE FACTORS OF TEACHING ANXIETY AMONG PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS IN MAGELANG

Pre-service teachers were the students of the faculty of education and teacher training. They might have a difficult experience teaching in the class because of a lack of experience. Therefore, they had to join the teaching practice program to learn about teaching and develop their teaching skills. Nevertheless, based on the writers’ pre-observation, most of the pre-service teachers experienced anxiety that affected their teaching performance while implementing the learning process.
The aimed of this study were to find out whether there was a relationship of teachers’ teaching performance while implementing the learning process and the factors of teaching anxiety among pre-service teachers in Magelang and to find out to what extent the relationship was of teachers’ teaching performance while implementing the learning process and the factors of teaching anxiety among pre-service teachers in Magelang.
This study used a quantitative correlational design, which the subject were 30 pre-service teachers who have joined the Introduction to the School Field at eleven schools in Magelang. To collect the data, the writer used a questionnaire for teaching performance while implementing the learning process and a questionnaire for the factors of teaching anxiety. After the data collected, then the data analyzed by using Product Moment correlational test.
The result of this study showed that there was moderate, significant, and negative correlation between teaching performance and teaching anxiety. This was seen from the significance value (0.001) was lower than the 5% significance, and r count (-0.558) was more than r table (0.361) at the 5% significance level with N=30. This study also showed that 31.4% of changes in the teaching performance while implementing the learning process variable was influenced by the factors of teaching anxiety variable, and the remaining 68.6% were influenced by other variables not examined by the writer.
