SKRIPSI AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS READING ALOUD ACTIVITY USING NARRATIVE TEXT AT SDN MUNTUNG IN THE SCHOOL YEAR 2021/2022

This study is about the analysis of reading aloud of narrative texts in Muntung Elementary School students. The purpose of reading aloud is to help students better understand how to read aloud properly. The writer aims to find out how students reading aloud activity and what are the advantages for fourth-grade students at SDN Muntung for the 2021/2022 academic year. This study focuses on students' reading methods in elementary school such as vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, expression, and reading volume. Qualitative descriptive is used in this research. The research subjects were fourth grade students at SDN Muntung in the school year of 2021/2022, with a total of 27 students. The author uses tests and observations in this study. The writer also conducted interviews with English teachers and used an assessment rubric in analyzing reading aloud. The writer uses a qualitative descriptive method in collecting data. Since analyzing, it can be seen that 6 students got a score of 100%, 19 students got a score with a percentage of 95% -75%, and 2 students got a score with a percentage of 70%. Based on the results, it can be seen that reading aloud is an advantage for elementary school students and can improve students' reading skills.
