SKRIPSI USING THE WAY MODELING METHOD TO IMPROVE STUDENTS DESCRIPTVIE TEXT SPEAKING SKILL IN VOCATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL SURAKARTA

Speaking skills are the ability to express ideas, opinions, and feelings to other parties through Spoken language. at school, students spent a lot of time and even English language lesson at school still use traditional learning methods, which do not provide an opportunity for students to understanding and the teacher only assesses the whole class without personal feedback. Due to solve the problem the writer implementing the curtain method that could help student to improve their speaking skill ability and provide a method that help student to understand the subject by learn it more daring. The writer aims to find empirical evidence of whether “the way modeling method” is effective in teaching descriptive text speaking skill in X grades vocational high school Surakarta. The objective of this research is to describe the improvement of descriptive text speaking skill after implementation of “the way modeling method”. The type of the research was classroom action research. The Subject of this research was X - 1 student of SMK Kasatriyan Surakarta in academic years 2022/202. The writer uses test and non-test to collect the data. The test is about speaking test while non-test are observation, questionnaire, and documentation. The finding of these study showed that based on questionnaire and observation, the use of “the way modeling method” to teach descriptive text speaking skill increase students’ score. The data said at the pre-cycle is the mean is 53.17, while at cycle I is 63.2, and for the last treatment or cycle II is 77. It means using the way modeling method successfully improving both student motivation and student descriptive text speaking skill.
