Writing skills are expressing ideas, opinions, and feelings to other parties through written language. At school, students spent a lot of time and even English language lessons at school still use traditional learning methods, which do not provide an opportunity for students to understand and the teacher only assesses the whole class without personal feedback.
This research was action research. The Scramble game were applied to improve the students’ skills in learning procedure text. This research aims to find empirical evidence of whether or not the scramble game is effective in English Language Teaching in procedure text writing skills to the eleventh graders of SMKN 2 Magelang. The objectives of this research are to describe the improvement of procedure text writing skills after the implementation of the scramble game through Telegram group.
The participants in this study consisted of 36 eleventh-grade students from SMKN 2 Magelang, with permission from the school. The writer uses test and non-test to collect data. The test is about writing skill tests while the non-test is observation, questionnaire, and documentation
The finding of the study indicate that the use of the Telegram group scramble game significantly improves the procedure text writing skill of the eleventh graders. The result of the research showed in Pre-cycle is 58,63, Cycle I is 64,02, and Cycle II is 82,52. It means using Scramble game through Telegram group improve students’ writing score in some aspects such as Content, Organization, Vocabulary, Language and Mechanic. There is great improvement in procedure text writing skill after being taught by using Scramble game through Telegram group.
