AKRIPSI DEVELOPING PODCAST-BASED LEARNING MEDIA THROUGH SOUNDCLOUD TO TEACH LISTENING SKILL OF NARRATIVE TEXT FOR THE FIRST GRADERS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

The development of learning media is needed, because learners need something discover to make them interested in learning English. Developing podcast-based learning media through soundcloud is one of learning media to teach and learn English. Therefore, the writer developed the podcast-based learning media through soundcloud that can be used within and outside the class.
There are two objectives in this research. The first one is to know how is the existing media that is used in the teaching learning process of narrative text listening skill for the first graders of Senior High School. The second is to know how is the developed podcast-based learning media through soundcloud to teach listening skill of narrative text for the first graders of Senior High School.
The research design of this study is research and development (R&D). The writer used questionnaire to collect the data. The subject is development of podcast-based learning media through soundcloud to teach listening skill of narrative text for the first graders of Senior High School 1 Mertoyudan. Then, the writer used qualitative descriptive analysis in the form of suggestion and the reasons for choosing the answers while the data in the form of percentage were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis.
The research had been done in five steps: 1) need analysis, 2) planning (performance objective), 3) develop preliminary form a product (develop/design product), 4) product validation, 5) final product revision. The product had been validated by the material expert, media expert and English schoolteacher using questionnaire. The result from material expert validation is 85,12%, followed the result from media expert validation is 91,367% and the result from English schoolteacher validation is 92,3%. Therefore, based on the experts, the product was completed and suitable to use because the result of data validation in the range of 80.1% - 100% that is categorized as "Very Good".
In relation to the final result, this research contributes to: (1) the teacher to enhance their creativity and ideas in teaching the students by using Podcast-based Learning Media in the learning activity, (2) the future writer, hopes this serves as an excellent motivator for future researcher to conduct additional study from another perspective.
