Reading is an essential skill for acquiring many things. It is necessary to develop beneficial reading habits to enhance reading ability. However, the reading habits of students remain fairly modest. Students must make an effort to better their reading habits. Reading academic texts is one method for college students to improve their reading habits, particularly in an Academic Reading classroom. Through excellent reading habits, students can acquire a strong vocabulary. Therefore,َ theَ research’sَ aimَ isَ toَ investigateَ theَ relationshipَ betweenَ academicَ text reading habits and academic reading students' vocabulary mastery. This study employed correlational analysis as its method of inquiry. Because vocabulary mastery was not normally distributed, the Spearman Rank Correlation was employed to analyze the variables' correlation. This study's population consisted of sixth-semester English education students at Universitas Tidar, with a total sample size of 42 students. The sample collected using the technique of purposive sampling, with selection based on the average grade in the academic reading course. The Reading Habit Questionnaire, the Vocabulary Mastery Test, and data on student performance in academic reading courses were utilized. Google Forms and Quizizz.com were utilized to collect the data. Several findings emerged from this study: (1) The sixth-semester students in the Academic Reading classroom have a fair reading habit for academic texts. (2) The sixth-semester students' vocabulary mastery is rated as good. (3) According to the results of the Spearman correlation test, the correlation coefficient value is - 0.111, and the two-tailed significance level is 0.485 and the relationship's direction is opposite and falls into the lowest category. Considering the research findings, it can be summarized that the relationship between sixth-semester students in an Academic Reading course's Reading Habit on Academic-Text and Vocabulary Mastery is insignificant. As a suggestion, teachers may provide students with motivation and assistance in order to improve their reading habits for academic texts. In addition, the writer believes that future writers can employ the result of this research to conduct additional research on related topics.
