Writing skills are essential in social interaction because most people interact with each other in written communication. It aims to help students in expressing their written ideas. Writing is a difficult language skill. Writing is a communication skill in English that allows people to express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions in writing.
This study aims to determine whether there is a significant difference in the use of Storybird Media for the 8th grade students of SMP N 10 Magelang. This research used quantitative method with an experimental design with pre-test and post-test design. The population of this study consisted of 61 students of two classes. The sample was collected using a purposive sampling technique, with the selection based on the average score on the pre-test and post-test.
Based on the results of the previous analysis the data in this study were not normally distributed nor homogeneous. The writer decided to use non-parametric statistical tests with the Mann-Whitney test. The Mann-Whitney test found that the significant value in this study was 000
