SKRIPSI PENGARUH MACAM MULSA PLASTIK DAN INTENSITAS PENGOLAHAN TANAH TERHADAP TUMBUHNYA GULMA DAN HASIL TANAMAN KENTANG (Solanum tuberosum L.) DI DATARAN MEDIUM

ABSTRACT
From November 20, 1990 to February 14, 1991, was carried out a research about the influence kind of plastic mulch and the intensity of tillage to the growth of weeds and yield of potato plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) in medium land. The research was done at Candiretno village, Secang sub district, Magelang regency, Central Java pro- vince, in the altitude 380 meters of the sea level, soll type is latosol and pH 6.2.
The research was done with Split Plot Design, based on Randomized Complete Block Design (RCED), consists of two factors treatment and three replications. The main plot is the intensity of tillage which consists of three level once, twice and three times. The sub plot is kinds of plastic mulch which consists of four levels without mulch, closed by the transparent plastic mulch, closed by the black plastic mulch and closed by the silver plastic mulch.
The result of the research showed that the treatment of tillage waan't significant influence, where as the treatment kind of plastic mulch was high significant in- fluence to soil temperature, weeds and potato plant. Bet- ween the treatment of tillage using the treatment kind of plastic mulch, the interaction wasn't significant.
The transparent plastic mulch can protect to the growth of weeds, but high enough to raise the noil temperature, so that reduce potato plants yield. The black plastic mulch and the silver plastic mulch were very effective to protect the growth of weeds and can increases the potato plants yield. The silver plastic mulch is the highest to increases the potato planta yield.
