SKRIPSI PENGARUH LAMA PEMERAMAN DAN LETAK MATA TUNAS PADA STEK TERHADAP KECEPATAN PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT TEBU (Saccharum officinarum L.) Var. F-154

ABSTRACT
The research about the influence of storage duration and bud position of cutting ng on growth of sugarcane (Sac- charum officinarum L.) variety F-154 seedling, thie research was carried out at Potrobangsan Village, North Magelang Subdistrict, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. The altitude about 376 m above sea level and the soil type is regosol, pH of soil six up to seven. This research had been carried out since August 13 th until October 22 th 1989.
The research method by Completly Randomized Design (CRD), using two factors and three replications. First factor, the duration of storage (P) which consist of four levels:
Po = non storage
P1 = storage for two days 1
P2 = storage for four days
P3 = storage for six days
Second factor, bud position of shoot on cutting (L) which consist of three levels:
L1 = beside bud position of shoot
L2 = above bud position of shoot
L3 = below bud position of shoot
The results of the experiment analysis are:
1. The duration of storage was very significant on the germination rate, significant on the germination value and the fresh weight of shoot
2. The bud position of shoot on cutting was very signifi- cant on the germination rate and the number of tillers, significant on the number of leaves, the length of roots and the fresh weight of shoot
3. Treatment combination the duration of storage and bud position of shoot on cutting was very significant on the germination rate and the number of tillers, significant on the germination value
4. The duration of storage treatment and bud position of shoot on cutting not significantly interaction.
