SKRIPSI PENGARUH MACAM PUPUK KANDANG DAN PEMANGKASAN TERHADAP HASIL TANAMAN MELON (Cucumis melo L.) VARIENTAS ROCKET

ABSTRACT
An experiment of effect of source of stable manure. Kinds of prunning on yield of melon (Cucumis melo L.) of Sky Rocket variety, was carried out since july 3, 1997 until september 1, 1997 at Bumirejo Village, Mungkid District, Magelang Regency, Central Java.
The experiment was carried out on Latosol soil with pH 6.7 and altitude 340 metres above sea level. The experiment was arranged with factorial (4X3) design, with randomized completely block design consisted of three replications. The first factor is source of stable manure they are without manure, manure of goats, of chickens and manure of cows. The second factor is kinds of prunning they are prunning with one stemp, prunning with two stemps, and prunning with three stemps.
The result of the Research shows that :
1. The treatment chickens manure may increase number of flower, weight of fruits, volume of fruits but similar fresh weight of straw compare to goats manure and cows manure.
2. Prunning with one stemp may in crease weight of fruits, volume of fruits, fresh weight of straw, dry weight of straw and flowers initiation.
3. Prunning with three stemp may increase number of flowers.
