SKRIPSI POPULASI PADA BEBERAPA VARIETAS JAGUNG TERHADAP HASIL TONGKOL MUDA

ABSTRACT
The research which was aimed to know the influance of population on several corn varieties to the yield young spodix. Was carried out in May until July 1992 at Kedungsari Village, Magelang Utara District, Magelang City, Central Java. The kind of soil is latosol, the soil pH is 6,0 until 6,5 with an altitude of 378 m above sea level.
The research was arranged in Split Plot with Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) Design as basic design which consisted of two treatment factors with four replications. The first factor is kind of (V) as Main Plot which consists of two level: Hybrida CP-1 (V) and variety Arjuna (V₂). The factor is population(P) as SubPlot which consists variety variety second of three level: population 43.333 plant/ha with plant spa- cing 75 x 30 om (P), population 53.333 plant/ha with plant spacing 75 x 25 cm (P2), population 66.666 plant/ ha with plant spacing 75 x 20 cm (P₂).
The population treatment influenced very signifi- cant at parameters age of harvest and had significant influence at parameters to the number of ears, fresh weight of straw and non significant influenced at para- meters to the height of plant, fresh weight of ears per plant, dry weight of straw, the leaf area, diameter of stalk, with length of stalk.
The results of this experiment shows obvious dif- ferences among each tested variety on parameters age of harvest, fresh weight of ears per plant, length of stalk, and significantly different effect on parameters diameter of stalk, and non interaction harvest all treatment.
