SKRIPSI PEMBERIAN KONSENTRASI GIBBERELLIN ( GA-3 ) TERHADAP HASIL BEBERAPA VARIETAS KACANG TUNGGAK ( Vigna ungiculata ( L. ) Walp. )
SUMMARY
Gibberellin is a phytohormone, it's chemical structure is characterised by a gibban and has has a streng biological effect to the stimulation of growth.
An experiment about the effect of gibberellin treat- ment on some varieties of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) was conducted at Potrobangsan, Magelang from No vember 1991 until February 1992. The experiment aimed to determine the effect of gibberellin to the yield of some varieties of cowpea.
A field experiment using a factorial experimental pattern consisting of 2 factor arranged in Randomized Com- plete Block Design with 3 replications was employed. The first factor is gibberellin concentration, consisting of (G1) 0 ppm, (G2) 10 ppm, (G3) 30 ppm, (G4) 50 ppm. The se- cond factor is varieties of cowpea, consisting of (E1) KT- 2 variety, (E2) lokal kebumen variety, (E3) lokal bantul variety. Gibberellin had been applied at 15, 30, 45 days after planting.
The result obtained showed that addition of 50 ppm gibberellin could increase the growth and development of cowpea that could be obtain from the increasing of the height of plant, the fresh weight of crown, the dry weight of crown and shortened the flowering time.
