SKRIPSI PENGARUH JUMLAH MATA TUNAS SAMBUNG SAMPING TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BEBERAPA KLON KAKAO (Theobroma cacao, L)
ABSTRACT
An experiment about the effect of bud number on side grafting on growth of some cacao (Theobroma cacao, L) clones was conducted from March 1997 to June 1997 in Muncang village, Bodeh district of Pemalang Regency. The elevation is ± 15 meters above sea level with brown alluvial soil and pH 5,1- 6,0.
This experiment is arranged factorially (2 x 4) with completely randomized design with three replications. The firts factor is two buds and three buds. The second factor is four clones cacao namely RCC 70, RCC 71 RCC 72, and RCC 73.
The result of this experiment shows that increasing number of buds does not increase percent of alive grafting but decreases diameter of shoot. Clones influence number of shoot, diameter of shoot, number of leaves and width of leaves.
The number of buds used on side grafting has influenced length of shoot and number of buds. Number and position of buds on entrest influence the growth of shoot.
