SKRIPSI PENGARUH EKSTRAK UMBI KENTANG, EKSTRAK BUAH TOMAT, DAN EKSTRAK BUAH PEPAYA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN PUCUK TANAMAN MELON (Cucumis melo L.) MELALUI KULTUR JARINGAN
ABSTRACT
A research about the effect of potato, tomato, and papaya extract on the growth of melon buds on in vitro propagation, has been carried out from 1 April 2001 until 25 September 2001. The experiment is located at Balai Benih Induk Hortikultura, Salaman, Magelang, Central Java, with an altitude of 296 meters, on a latosol soil, pH of 6, with an average of presipitation 2500-3000 mm/year.
The research uses factorial (3x3) experiment with randomized completely design consist of three replications. The first factor is kind of extract (potato, tomato, and papaya). The second factor is the increasing concentration of extract (5%, 10% and 15%).
The results of experiment show that papaya extract has the highest in buds mutiplication. Potatoe extract has the highest in planlets lenght, roots lenght, number of leaves, and fresh weight of planlets. Increasing of extract concentration causes a constant decrease of planlets lenght and roots lenght. But it gives different increase in fresh weight and dry weight of planlets. The increase of extract concentration on each extract only gives different respon in number of buds, planlets lenght, and roots lenght.
