SKRIPSI PENGARUH DOSIS PUPUK GRAND-K DAN JUMLAH BUAH TERHADAP HASIL TANAMAN SEMANGKA ( Citrullus vulgaris, Schard) VARITAS TOP QUALITY

ABSTRACT
The research about the effect of Grand-K ferti- lizer dose and the number of fruits on yield of water melon (Citrullus vulgaris, Scard) had been done since July 10th to October 17th 2000 at Bojong village Mungkid District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. The kind of
soil is regosol and the altitude is 350 meters. The research uses experiment in randomized complete block design, factorial (4 x 2) with three replications. The first factor is Grand-K fertilizer dose (kg/block): 0; 0,168; 0,336 and 0,504. The second factors the number of fruit, one and two fruits per
plant. The result of the research showes that Grand-K fertilizer dose does not affect the female flower iniciation, the pollinations time and harvest age, but affects the weight per fruit, the fruits weight per plant and fruit diameters.

The highest weight of fruit per plant has been achived on treatmen combination Grand-K fertilizer 166,67 kg/ha and two fruits per plant. Increasing Grand-K dose at any number of fruits does not effect all parameters observed.
