SKRIPSI PENGARUH BERAT BENIH DAN TATA TANAM TERHADAP PRODUKSI JAGUNG (Zea Mays L.) VARIESTA ARJUNA

ABSTRAC
A research entitled the influence of the weight of seeds and planting system to the production of maize Arjuna variety, had been done at Dampit village, Merto yudan in the Magelang regent on Latosol soil and at an altitude of 340 meters.
The research started on 13 Octo- ber 1988 to 12 January 1989. The purpose of the research was to know abouth the effect of the weight of seeds and planting system to the production of maize Arjuna varie- ty. The research method was factorial 2 X 3 with
arranged in Randomized Comletely Block Design (RCBD) consisted of 2 factor and 4 replications. The first factor was weight of grains: 3234 g; 2729 g 21 - 23 g per 100 grains. The second factor was the planting system: single row (75 cm X 30 cm) and rectangular (50 cm X 50 cm). The parameters observed were plant height at harvest, the lenght of ear at harvest, the fresh weight of ear at harvest, the dry weight of ear, the weight of dry grains per plot, the weight of 1000 grains and the fresh weight of straw at harvest.
The result of the research showed that the weight of grains and planting system gave no real influence to the production of maize Arjuna variety, except in the weight of fresh straw at harvest. But the result of the research showed that the use of big and heavy grains inclined better than little light grains. From the result of the research, the highest yield of dry grainsper plot was obtained from the combination treatment BT 5,2625 kg, and the lowest B3T₁= 4,6075 kg.
