SKRIPSI PENGARUH POPULASI AWAL DAN SAAT MUNCULNYA TEKI ( Cyperus rotundus, L. ) TERHADAP HASIL TANAMAN BAWANG MERAH (Allium cepa fa ascalonicum, L. )

ABSTRACT
An experiment about of the effect of initial popula- tion and time of emergence of grass (Cyperus rotundus, L.) on growth and yield of onion (Allium cepa fa ascalonicum, L.), had been done since May 20th until August 8th, 2004 in plastic house at Dumpoh Village, Potrobangsan North Magelang District, Magelang City. The altitude is 350 m, kind of soil is latosol and pH 6,5.
The method of experiment is factorial (4x3) with completely randomized design and three replications. The first factor is initial population of grass, 0, 5, 10 and 15 plants per polybag. The second factor, is time of emergence of grass one, three and five weeks after sowing.
The analysis result shows that increasing initial population until 15 plants grass is able to decrease onion plant height, onion leaves number, fresh weight of onion bulb, weight of dry bulb and length of union roots linearly. Time of emergence of grass five weeks after sowing is able to give the highest onion leaves number, fresh weight of onion bulbs and weight of dry bulbs. The increasing initial population of grass at different time of emergence shows the same result on observed parame- ters.
