SKRIPSI PENGARUH MEDIA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L.)
ABSTRACT
An experiment to study the effect of medium on the growth of cocoa seedlings, had been done since June 1991 up to September 1991 at Banaran, Jambu, Ambarawa, Central Java. The soil type is latosol with pH 6,5 and located an elevation of 650 meters above sea level. at
The applied experiment design was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five different media treatments and five replications for each treatment. The different medias were:
Z0 : Latosol soil
Z1 : Latosol soil and sand (1:1)
Z2 : Latosol soil and stable fertilizer (1:1)
Z3 : Sand and stable fertilizer (1:1)
Z4 : Latosol soil, sand, and stable fertilizer (1:1:1).
The result of this experiment showed that medium composing of latosol soil, sand, and stable fertilizer resulted to a very obvious effect on number of roots, length of tap roots, fresh weight of seedlings, fresh weight of roots, and showed obvious effect on height of seedlings, number of leaves, diameter of stems, and dry weight of seedlings.
