SKRIPSI PERANAN COLCHICINE TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL PADA BAWANG MERAH (Allium cepa fa ascalonicum L.) var. Ampenan

ABSTRACT

This experiment was carried out at Potrobangsan North Magelang District, Magelang City, since September
until November 1988, at plastic House with regosol soil type, the average temperatur 26'c, at an elavation of
376 m.
The purpose of this experiment was to study the influence of colchicine concentration on the growth and
yield of onion (Allium cepa fa ascalonicum L)­
This experiment design used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor, colchicine concentration with seven treatments and five replications.
Those treatments are as follows
- K = Concentration of 0.00%
- A = Concentration of 0.01%
- B = Concentration of 0.02%
- C = Concentration of 0.03%
- D = Concentration of 0.04%
- E = Concentration of 0.05%
- F = Concentration of 0.06%
Statistical analysis showed that colchicine treatment represent a very significant influence on the height of plant, number of leaves, number of bulbs, diameter of bulbs, fresh weight and dry weight of bulbs and changes in the number of chromosomes.
Colchicine treatments with a concentration of 0.0l% - 0.02% stimulate the growth and yield of onion, while a concentration of 0.03% - 0.06% inhibit the growth and yield of onion.
