SKRIPSI PENGARUH LAMA PERENDAMAN AIR PANAS DAN LETAK MATA TUNAS PADA TURUS TERHADAP KECEPATAN PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT TEBU (Saccharum officinarum L.) var. BZ-132
              ABSTRACT
An experiment about the effect of time of soaking in heat water (50 C) and bud position on cutting on the growth speed of planting Sugar Cane (Saccharum officinarum L.) was carried out from June 28, 1989 until September 5, 1989 at Kedungsari Village, North Magelang District Magelang Regency, Central Java, with an altitude of 380 meters. The soil type was Latosol with soil pH 6 until 7. 
The experiment design was arranged by Completely Randomized Design (CRD), using two treatments with three replications. The first treatment is time of soaking in heat water (R), with three levels : 
R1 = soaking in heat water as long as 1 hour 
R2 = soaking in heat water as long as 2 hours 
R3 = soaking in heat water as long as 3 hours 
and the second treatment was bud position (L), with three 
levels :
L1 = bud position at above 
L2 = bud position at side  
L3 = bud position at underneath 
The result showed that : 
l. Treatment with time of soaking in heat water water (50 C) gave a significant influence for the capacity of getting shoots and the number of leaves, and gave a very significant influence for the rate of getting shoots. 
2. The treatment with position of bud gave very significant for the value of getting shoots, capacity of getting shoots and rate of getting shoots. 
3. Interaction between time of soaking in heat water and position of bud on the value of getting shoots, capacity of getting shoots and dry weight of shoots . 
4. The result of the best treatment combination is soaking in heat water ( 50 C) as long as 2 hours and the 
position of bud at above (R2L1).
