SKRIPSI PENGARUH FREKUENSI PEMBERIAN AIR DAN MACAM MEDIA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT PEPAYA (Carica papaya, L.)

ABSTRACT
The research is aimed to study the effect of frequency watering and media on growth of papaya seedling (Carica papaya, L.). The research was carried out in green house University Tidar Magelang, Potrobangsan Village, Magelang Utara District, Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. The altitude is 376 meters. The kind of soil is latosol with soil pH 6,5. The research was started from August 28, 1998 until October 24, 1998.
The method used is factorial experiment (3 x 3) with randomized completely design, consisted of two factors and five replications. The first factor is media soil and husk, soil and timber, soil and bamboo leaves. The second factor is the frequency of watering every days, every three days and every five days.
The result of research shows media of soil and bamboo leaves indicates highest yield on height of seedlings, diameter of stems, lenght of roots, number of leaves, fresh weight of roots, dry weight of roots, fresh weight of seedlings, dry weight of seedlings. The frequency of watering every three days increse height of seedlings, diameter of stems, lenght of roots, number of leaves, fresh weight of roots, dry weight of roots, fresh weight of seedlings, dry weight of seedlings. Media of soil and bamboo leaves by frequency of watering every three days increase on growth and unfolding of seedling.
