SKRIPSI PENGARUH TINGKAT KEMASAKAN DAN PEMILIHAN LETAK BIJI DALAM BUAH TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BIBIT KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L)

ABSTRACT
The experiment about the effect of ripenings level of fruits and selection of seed location in fruits for the growth of caco seedling, had been carried out since July 19, 1991 until Oktober 24, 1991. The location experiment was at Kedungsari Village, sub District of the North Magelang. Magelang City, Central Java. The soil type is latosol with pH 6.5 on an altitude of 380 meters above sea lavel.
The experiment used factorial method with arranged by Complete Randomized Design (CRD) using 2 treatments and 4 replications. The firs treatment, repening level of
fruits (T) were:
T1 : Unripe fruits
T2 : Ripe fruits
The secon treatment, seed location in the fruits (L) were
L1 : Seed location in the base of fruit
L2 : Seed location in the midle of fruit
L3 : Seed location in the tip of fruit
The result of the experiment showed that treatment of ripening level of fruits gave a significant effect the persentage of germination and very significant different to all observation, except to the effect to the number roots and stem diameter. Seed location gave a of very significant for the number of leaves and roots length, but was not significant for the persentage of germination, height of seedling, stem diameter, number of roots, fresh weight of seedling, dry weight of seedling, fresh weight of roots and roots dry weight.
The best combination treatment was T2L2 for the persentage of seed germination, height of seedling, number of leaves, stem diameter, lenght of roots, fresh weight of seedling, dry weight of seedling, fresh weight of roots and roots dry weight. The best combination for the treat- ment of number of roots was T1L3-
