SKRIPSI PENGARUH SAAT DAN PENGURANGAN DAUN (DEFOLIASI) TERHADAP HASIL TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) HIBRIDA VARIETAS BISI-2

ABSTRACT
The experiment to known the affect of age and number of defoliated on yield of corn (Zon mays L.) hibryd of Biei 2 voriety has been carried out since 17 February until 4 Juni 1997, at Sojokerto Village, Lekeono District, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java Province. The soil type is lathosol with pil 6,3 and altitude 505 meters above sea level.
The methode is factorial experiment 3 x 3 with ran- domized complete block design, consisted of three repli- cations. The first faktor is age of defoliation: 25, 35 and 45 days after planting. The second factor is number of defolisted leaf two, four and six leaves from the bane.
The result of experiment shows that 1. At the first ears, age of defoliatión doon not increa se at all observed parameters. For number of defolio- ted leaves can increans weight of ears with skin, but do not increase weight of sare without skin, volume of ears without skia, number of seeds, weight of dry
grain and weight of 1000 seeds. 2. At the second ears, age of defoliation does not increas se at all observed parameters. For number of defoliated Leaven can. increase weight of 1000 seeds, but do not increase weight of ears without skin, number of noode and weight of dry grain.
3. Observation per plant shows that, age of defoliation do not increase at all observed parametere. For numbor of defoliated leaves can increase weight of 1000 seede, but do not increase weight of ours with skin, weight of eare without skin, volume of eare without skin, number of seeds and weight of dry grain.
4. The firet esre are taller than escond ears at weight of ears with skin, weight of ears without skin, weight of dry grain and weight of 1000 seeds.
