SKRIPSI PENGARUH DOSIS SINAR GAMMA (Co-60) HASIL BEBERAPA VARIETAS OKRA (Abelmoschus esculantus)
ABSTRACT
The research about the effect of gamma rays dose of (Co-60) to the yield of okra variety (Abelmoschus esculantus), had been done since December 20, 1998 to February 12, 1999, at Mungkid Village, Mungkid District, Magelang Regency, Central Java. The kind of soil is latosol with pH 6,4 and the altitude is 340 meters. The radiation of okra has been done at BATAN, Pasar Jum'at, Jakarta.
The research uses Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), consist of two factors and three replications. The first factor is variety, they consist of two levels: Better Five, and Green Star. The second factor is the gamma rays dose, consist of four levels of dose: 0,2,4,6 krad.
The result of the experiment are:
1. Increasing of the gamma rays (Co-60) does not give an influence to the height of plant, flowering time, weight of fruits per plant, fresh weight of straw, and dry weight of straw; but it gives an influence Increasing number of fruits.
2. The treatment of kind of variety, does not give an influence to the height of plant, flowering time, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruits per plant, fresh weight of straw, and dry weight of straw.
3. The gamma rays radiation (Co-60), does not give an influence to the change of plant morphology.
4. To decide the gamma rays radiation dose (Co-60) precisely, and to decide the variety which is able to give the highest yield, the research should be continued.
