SKRIPSI PENGARUH DOSIS SINAR GAMMA ( Co-60 ) DENGAN KOMBINASI KONSENTRASI COLCHICINE TERHADAP TONGKOL MUDA JAGUNG ( Zea mays L. )
ABSTRACT
An experimental concering the effect of gamma ra- diation (CO-60) dose in combination with colchicine con- centration upon young spodix of corn seeds (Zea mays L.) has been done in Wates Village, Magelang District, Central Java from February to April 1992. The radiation of corn seeds has been done at BATAN Jakarta. The type of soil is
Latosol, with an altitude of 325 metres above sea level.
The purpose of this research is to know the effect of physical of agent mutagenic in combination with chemical mutagenic agent upon the growth and yield of young spodix
of corn seeds.
The experiment was arranged with Randomized Completely Block Design (RBCD), arranged in Factorial, with 3 factors and 2 replications.
Factor 1: Dose of gamma radiation (D) (5 levels)
D0 : no radiation
D1 : 2 krad dose
D2 : 4 krad dose
D3 : 6 krad dose
D4 : 8 krad dose
Factor 2: Colchicine consentration (C) (3 levels)
Co : no colchicine
1 : 0,01% C
2 consentration : 0,02% consentration
Dose of gamma radiation gave a very significant effect to height of plant, length of maximum leaves, circumference
of stem and fresh weight of spodix per plant and signifi- cantly effect to the maximum width of leaves, number of spodix per plant and dry weight of spodix per plant.
The treatment with colchicine consentration gave a very significant effect to the maximum length of leaves.
The interaction of the treatment between dose at gamma radiation and colchicine consentration on the fresh weight
of spodix per plant.
