SKRIPSI PENGARUH MACAM MULSA DAN VARIETAS TERHADAP HASIL BAWANG PUTIH ( Allium sativum L. )

ABSTRACT
Study on "The Effect of Kind Mulch and Varieties to the Yield of Garlic (Allium sativum L.)" had been conducted at the Village of Sutopati, Kecamatan Kajoran, Kabupaten Magelang from September until December 1990, with the soil type is brown Latosol, pH 6.5 and altitude of the place 1100 metres above sea level.
This experiment conducted in Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) arranged in Split Plot Design (SPD) with 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. Factor I. Kind of mulch (M) to be composed of 3 levels, Mo un mulch, M₁ = chaff mulch, M₂ = husk mulch. Factor II. Kind of varieties 12 (V) to be composed of 3 levels, Vo V1 Lumbu Hijau variety, Lumbu Kuning variety, V, Gomblon variety.
The result of experiment showed that mulch treatment was increased to the height of plant, fresh and dry weight of straw on the land per plant, fresh and dry weight of bulbs per plant, dry weight of bulbs per plot, and able to decreased the fresh and dry weight of weeds per plot, and decreased the temperature of land surface, but influenced little for increasing at the number of leaves per plant and number of cloves per bulbs. The treatment of variety showed different growth on height of plant, number of leaves per plant, fresh and dry weight of straw on the land per plant, fresh and dry weight of bulbs per plant, dry weight of bulbs per plot, and number of cloves per bulbs, bud influenced little for de- creased the fresh and dry weight of weeds per plot, and tem- perature of land surface. Combination mulch with variety indicated no significant interaction to all of component
observation.
The highest yield of garlic was oftained by combination M1Vo (chaff mulch, Lumbu Hijau variety), that is 8.25 tons/ ha.
