SKRIPSI PENGARUH LAMA PENYIMPANAN BENIH TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BEBERAPA VARIETAS BIBIT CACAO (Theobroma cacao, L.)
An experiment of storage duration of seed on kinds of cacao varieties to growth of cacao seedling (Theobroma cacao L.) had been conducted at University of Tidar Magelang. North Magelang, Central Java, from October to December 1997, the soil type is Latosol and the altitude is 376 meters. The method is factorial experiment (2 x 5) with randomized completely design with five replication. The first factor is storage duration of seed (0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 days) and the second factor is kinds of variety (Criollo and Forestero).
The result of the experiment shows that The treatment storage duration of seed significantly decrease germination percentage. seedlings height, stem diameter, tap root lenght, widht of leaves on epicotyl height with linier respon. The treatment storage duration has no effect on seed emergence and leaves number. The treatment of kinds of variety give no significant effect on all observed parameters.
