SKRIPSI PENGARUH MACAM MEDIA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BEBERAPA MACAM VARIETAS BIBIT PEPAYA (Carica papaya L.)

ABSTRACT

A research is to know the effect of kind of media on growth of varieties of papaya seedling (Carica papaya L.).
The research was carried out in green house of college of Agriculture of Tidar University Magelang, with an altitude of 376 meters. The kind of soil is latosol, pH is 6,5. The research was started from December 1998 until February 1999.
The research used factorial (2x4) experiment with randomized completely block design, consists of two factors and three replications. First factor is media mixture of soil and casting, compost of city waste, bokhasi and azolla with each composition volume 2 1. Second factor is varieties papaya Bangkok and Jingga.
The result of reseach shows that growth and develop- ment of diameter of stamps, height of plants, number of leaves, fresh weight of seedling and dry weight of breed on media mixture of soil and azolla shows a result better than the other. The mixture of soil and compost of city waste media is lowest of growth of papaya seedling. The media of mixture soil and azolla on Jingga variety increases the lenght of primary root.
