SKRIPSI PENGARUH POPULASI DAN DOSIS PEMUPUKAN NITROGEN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) HIBRIDA BISI-2
              ABSTRACT
A research to study the effect of plant population and
dose of nitrogen on growth and yield of corn (Zea mays L.)
hybrid of Bisi-2 had been conducted from August 4th to
December 2nd, 1997 at P3PAL, Soropadan, Pringsurat,
Temanggung Regency, Central Java. The altitude is 550 meters
and the soil type is latosol with pH. 6,0.
The research is factorial 3 x 4 experiment with
randomized completely block design consisted of tree
replications. The first factor is plant population: 31250,
62500, 92750 plants per hectar. The second factor is dose of
nitrogen 115, 161, 207 and 253 kg N per hectar.
The result shows that the higher plant population
results in later flower initiation, higher weight of dry
kernels per plot, higher yield. The plant height, number of
ears, number of filled ears, lenght of ears, number of row of
kernel on ears, weight of dry kernel per plant and weight of
1000 kernels are lower on higher plant population. The higher
N dose results in higher number of ears, higher weight dry
kernels per plant, higher weight dry kernels per plot and
higher yield per hectar. Response of plant to increased dose
of N on each population occurs only on flower initiation. The
highest yield is on highest population with dose of N as much
as 550 kg of urea per hectar.
