SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING EXAMPLE NON-EXAMPLES LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE THE DESCRIPTIVE TEXT WRITING SKILL OF TENTH GRADERS OF MAN 1 MAGELANG

In applying the learning model to a material, it was necessary to know whether the learning model used was effective. This would be useful for teachers to apply and provide learning that could make it easier for teachers to transfer knowledge and acknowledge from students. In this study, the writer examined whether the Example non-example learning model effectively improved students' ability to write descriptive text in tenth-grade students of MAN 1 Magelang.
This research was conducted at the tenth-grade of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Magelang. The research used quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. Then, the sample in this research was 48 students from two classes. One class contains 24 students as a control class, and the other was also 24 students as an experimental class. These data analyzed using SPSS 25 through Independent Sample t-test and One-Way ANOVA.
On the findings and discussion, the mean score of experimental class in pre-test was 72,7 and in the post-test was 80,1. While, for the control class, the pre-test score was 73,5 and 75,5 for the post-test. Furthermore, the sig.(2-tailed) score in the independent sample t-test was 0.004. It showed that there was a significance difference in descriptive text writing skill between students who are taught using example non-example learning model and students who are taught using lecturing learning model. One-Way ANOVA calculations carried out in this research, the writer found that the F value calculated from the data was 13,402 and F table was 4.30. It was indicated that example non-example learning model in improving students' writing descriptive text skill.
In conclusion, there was a significance difference in descriptive text writing skill between students who are taught using example non-example learning model and students who are taught using lecturing learning model and the example non-example learning model was effective in improving students' writing descriptive text skill.
