SKRIPSI THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BLENDED LEARNING BY ENGLISH TEACHERS AT MTSN 2 KOTA MAGELANG IN POST COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The purpose of this study is: (1) to investigate blended learning implemented by English teachers at MTsN 2 Kota Magelang during post Covid-19 Pandemic in the academic year of 2022/2023. (2) To investigate the problems faced by English teachers at MTsN 2 Kota Magelang in implementing blended learning. This research used descriptive qualitative research. The participants of this study were two English teachers at MTsN 2 Kota Magelang and 32 students of MTsN 2 Kota Magelang. Interviews were used to collect data from teachers and questionnaire were used to collect data from students. The data were analyzed and interpreted through qualitative procedures. In implementing blended learning, it is divided into two classes, namely face-to-face and online classes. The results of interview on two English teachers of MTsN 2 Kota Magelang show that they found some problems in implementing blended learning. The Problems found in the implementation of blended learning in face-to-face classes included; learning time being too short, while the problems faced in online learning such as; low internet connection, limited internet data, and fewer students owning smartphones. To solve problems of offline learning, the teachers taught as well as possible in class, then students could ask about material and practice questions via Whatsapp. The solution for problems of online learning, online assessments or assignments were sent to students’ home by school couriers, who were subject teachers or school officials. The results of questionnaire on 32 students of MTsN 2 Kota Magelang show a positive response from students. Students are interested in learning using the blended learning method with the online application, this method has benefits for students. This can be seen from students' questionnaire answers if the teacher uses the blended learning method in learning English. Students easily collect assignments and can motivate students to explore related content. Blended learning could be a relevant model to teach English in post Covid-19 pandemic.
