In translating texts, especially literary works, students faced several problems. The problem is influenced by two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. The internal factors related to the knowledge and skill of the translator while the external factors contain cultural barrier and the environments. The aims of study to know the quality of students’ translation in translating a short story and what aspects should the students improve in their translations. The research used case study in qualitative research. The subject of this research is the result of the 3rd-semester students’ translation in translationg a short story entitled “The Wise Physically Challenged”. The data collection technique for this research is by translating a short story from English into Indonesian. The data analysis technique are to determine the accuracy level, acceptability level, and readability level. The findings and discussion of this research are 89 data were found to be accurate, 20 were less accurate, and 1 was not accurate. For the acceptability category, 87 acceptable data were found, 33 were less acceptable, and there is no not acceptable data were found. For the readability category, 109 data were found with a high readability level, 11 data were found with a moderate readability level, and no data was found with a low readability level. Based on the findings, the students' translation results are quite good. However, students need to improve the quality of their translation, especially in accuracy and acceptability aspect. In suggestion, the students should continually increase the level of their translations quality.
