SKRIPSI THE QUALITY OF TEACHER’S MULTIPLE-CHOICE ENGLISH TEST IN KURIKULUM MERDEKA (A Study at the Tenth Grade SMA Negeri 2 Magelang in the School Year of 2022/2023)

In education, there is a transition in many things, one of which is a curriculum that nowadays is using Kurikulum Merdeka. One of several points from this curriculum states that teachers can assess students using various types of instruments. This study focuses on the quality of multiple-choice English tests made by teachers in the Kurikulum Merdeka. Based on the previous studies, a good multiple-choice item was defined as an item that meets criteria such as validity, reliability, difficulty level, discriminating power, and the effectiveness of distractors. This study utilized content analysis. The sample consisted of 143 students from 4 grade 10 classes, which was later filtered down to 39 students for research data. The data analyzed was from the final semester exam items and using the ANATES program, which is a measuring tool for analyzed the items. The writer also reffered to Arikunto’s (2020) and Djiwandono’s (2011) theories to determine the quality level of the items studied. The results show that the quality of test items is quite good. In the difficulty level, there are 20 items (50%) easy, 14 items (35%) moderate, and 6 items (15%) difficult. While in the discriminating power, there are 57.5% in very good and moderate category and 42.5% in poor and unacceptable category. From those results, the test items still need to be revised, so that the quality of the item is better and ideal.
