Keywords: Tenth graders, assemblr edu, learning media, writing skill, descriptive textIn the current educational setting, hefty portions of high school students belong to Generation Z, which is characterized by its proficiency with the Internet and mobile technology. Teachers are rapidly switching to innovative solutions to overcome the challenge of creating a meaningful learning environment that motivates students and improves learning outcomes. Meanwhile, in traditional writing instruction, students often lose interest because the media used are limited to textbooks. Specifically, there is a gap in learning activities related to high school students' engagement in writing. As of today, there is no single study in the Indonesian context that has explored the teaching of descriptive writing skills using Assemblr Edu as an AR media to address this issue. The current study aims to examine the significant difference in descriptive writing skills between students taught using Assemblr Edu as Augmented Reality (AR) media and those who were not, and to explore students’ experiences with Assemblr Edu in learning descriptive text writing.
