Keywords: Speaking Cartoon Animation Videos, Textbook Enhancing students' speaking skills poses various challenges, including vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, fluency, and comprehension difficulties. This study investigates the effectiveness of using Cartoon Animation Videos compared to traditional textbook media in improving speaking abilities among 11th-grade senior high school students. Utilizing a quasi-experimental design with pre-tests and posttests, the experimental group was instructed using Cartoon Animation Videos, while the control group received conventional textbook-based instruction. Cartoon Animation Videos provide a visually engaging and interactive learning experience, making complex concepts more accessible and enjoyable for students. They capture students' attention and enhance information retention through compelling storytelling and visual aids, fostering creativity and critical thinking. The analysis, conducted using independent sample t-tests, revealed significant differences between the experimental and control groups, with the experimental group demonstrating greater improvement in speaking skills. The pre-test scores for the experimental and control groups were 57.14 and 47.44, respectively. Post-test scores showed significant improvement, with the experimental group scoring 75.09 compared to the control group's 60.22. The t-test results indicated a significance level below 0.05 (Sig. 2- tailed = 0.000), and a t-value higher than the t-table value (5850 > 2445). Additionally, the N-gain score for the experimental group (0.41, moderate) exceeded that of the control group (0.23, low). These findings confirm that the use of Cartoon Animation Videos is an effective approach to enhancing students' speaking skills, promoting self-awareness, and building confidence in their language abilities. The study supports the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha) and the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). The findings of a comparative study between Cartoon Animation Videos and textbook media suggested that teachers incorporate Cartoon Animation Videos into their teaching materials to enhance students' speaking skills. The significant improvements observed in the experimental group indicated that this medium enhanced speaking abilities and created a more enjoyable and motivating learning environment for students. Therefore, integrating Cartoon Animation Videos could be a valuable addition to conventional textbook media, potentially leading to improved student confidence and proficiency in speaking.
