Keywords: Numbered Heads Together technique, Padlet, Reading skills. In English learning, reading is crucial in how students acquire information. Acquiring reading skills holds significant importance for students in comprehending written texts. However, during the writer’s observation at SMA N 1 Mertoyudan, the students struggled to comprehend the text. Teachers need to implement learning techniques and media to solve the problems in reading skills at SMA N 1 Mertoyudan. Based on the problem above, this study is intended to find out any significant difference in reading skills between students who are taught using the Numbered Heads Together technique with Padlet and those who are taught using the lecturing technique with textbook and to find out how significant the difference in reading skills is between students who are taught using the Numbered Heads Together technique with Padlet and those who are taught using the lecturing technique with textbook. This study implemented quasi-experimental research. The writer conducted this study in two classes, XB (control class) and XE (experimental class), with a total of 71 students at SMA N 1 Mertoyudan. The writer used test, which was pretest and post-test, consisting of fifteen multiple choice questions for the data collection technique. The data analysis technique used in this research was the Mann-Whitney test through SPSS V26.
