Reading comprehension is a skill to comprehend a written text that has been read by using the reader’s prior knowledge and experience. Reading comprehension is one of the fundamental skills in the Merdeka Curriculum. In Merdeka Curriculum, students must be able to comprehend variety of texts. This study focused on the narrative text since this text contains a story that is suitable with the learning strategy. Students have to find the main ideas, specific details, author’s purpose, and implicit information. In fact, the majority students in Indonesia still struggle in comprehending a text. As a future teacher, the writer needs to know the suitable learning strategy to achieve the learning goal. The story-wheel strategy can be the learning strategy for students in learning reading comprehension by visualizing a written text into concrete images. With concrete images, students can be more engaged with the text and have a better understanding than they have to memorize a long text. This study wants to determine whether there is a significant difference in students’ reading comprehension of narrative text between those who were using the story-wheel strategy and those who were using the summarizing strategy at SMA Sholihin Bandongan in the academic year 2023/2024. This study employed a quasi-experimental approach using a pre-test-post- test control group design. This study was conducted in two classes, the experimental class and the control class. The population was drawn from the 10th graders of SMA Sholihin Bandongan in the academic year 2023/2024, which included 83 students. The sample of this study was 25 students from each class, selected using a cluster random sampling technique. The data collection was gathered from a reading test. Then, the writer examined the data using the SPSS V22. The result revealed that there is the difference in the students’ mean scores between the two groups. The mean score for the experimental class was 78.8, whereas the mean score for the control class was 72.4. The result of the T-test revealed that there is a significant difference between those two groups. The value of ttest was higher than ttable (2.073> 2.000). In conclusion, there is a significant difference in students’ reading comprehension using the story-wheel strategy and the summarizing strategy. This strategy had a good impact on 10th graders’ reading comprehension, particularly in narrative text, at SMA Sholihin Bandongan in the academic year 2023/2024.
