SKRIPSI A CONTENT ANALYSIS OF PANCASILA STUDENT PROFILE CONTAINED IN THE ENGLISH TEXTBOOK “MODUL BAHASA INGGRIS SMK/MAK KELAS X”

Advisor 1 Sukma Shinta Yunianti, M.Pd., Advisor II Dwitiya Ari Nugrahaeni Character education is important to be implemented in the education process. In the Merdeka Curriculum, character education is realized through a project called Pancasila Student Profile. It emphasizes the cultivation of Pancasila values in the learning process. Hence, it is important to implement the Pancasila Student Profile in all aspects of education. One of the education aspects is learning material such as textbooks. “Modul Bahasa Inggris SMK/MAK Kelas X” is an English textbook used in SMKN 1 Windusari. The textbook stated that it supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Thus, the textbook should implement the Pancasila Student Profile as one of the programs in the Merdeka Curriculum. However, teachers and students find it difficult to comprehend the Pancasila Student Profile values contained in the textbook. The goal of this study is to evaluate and seek to what extent the Pancasila Student Profile in the textbook. The study focused on analyzing the Pancasila Student Profile in the reading texts, dialogue texts, and pictures of the textbook. The study employed a content analysis of qualitative research as the methodology. The data are collected by documentation. Furthermore, in analyzing the data, this study used the procedure carried out by Ary et al (2020). The result of the study shows that the Pancasila Student Profile is realized in the textbook. There are 26 reading texts, 20 dialogue texts, and seven pictures in the textbook that promote the values of the Pancasila Student Profile. The six dimensions and 20 elements of the Pancasila Student Profile are realized in the textbook. Furthermore, all chapters of the textbook are implementing the Pancasila Student Profile. However, its implementation is not distributed evenly because there is a significant difference among the dimensions and elements that are realized in the textbook. This problem needs to be considered as neglecting any one of these dimensions will not only hinder the achievement of the student profile but also make it difficult to develop the other dimensions.
