Keyword: Reconnecting Strategy, Slido Application , Writing, Recount Text, Motivation.The ability to write recount text can provide students with better options to communicate their experience and information from the past with readable text. However, based on observation, the writer found that most students could still not understand and write recount text well. Their motivation and how the teacher taught them were the factors. Based on that, the writer projected a solution by applying a new strategy and technology to increase students' motivation and recount text writing skills.The objectives of this study were (1) to know whether teaching using the reconnecting strategy with the Slido application can improve the tenth-grade students' recount text writing skills of SMK Negeri 2 Magelang in the school year 2022/2023 and (2) to know how much teaching using the reconnecting strategy with the Slido application can increase the tenth-grade students' learning motivation of SMK Negeri 2 Magelang in the school year 2022/2023.This study used a classroom action research (CAR) design. It was conducted in three stages: Pre-Cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The subjects of this study were 36 tenth-grade students in the MPLB 2 class of SMK Negeri 2 Magelang in 2022/2023. The writer applied tests, observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation to gather the data. The data was analyzed using quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques.
