Unfortunately, reading proficiency remains low among high school students in Indonesia. According to UNESCO data, Indonesia has the second-lowest literacy rate in the world, which indicates little interest in reading which made the students face difficulties in comprehending the text. Furthermore, the students face boredom while they were in the English class due to monotonous strategy. Therefore, the objectives of the study are: 1. To find whether there is any significant difference on students' reading comprehension at SMP Negeri 1 Tegalrejo after being taught by Jeopardy Review Strategy with Jeopardylabs media and Hangman Strategy with conventional media. 2. To know the students’ engagement after being taught by Jeopardy Review Strategy with Jeopardylabs media. The study used mix-method research with explanatory sequential design. The pre-test and post-test are used to gather the quantitative data for quasiexsperimental design. The questionnaire and interview are also done for collecting the qualitative data. The sample of the study consisted of 64 students from class VIII B as experimental class and class VIII A for control class that was chosen by purposive sampling technique. The experimental class was taught by Jeopardy Review Strategy with JeopardyLabs as the media and the control class was taught by Hangman Strategy with conventional media. Hence, the result of pre-test and post-test were analysed using by SPSS 22. The result of quantitative data was analysed using Mann-Whitney test by SPSS 22 due to the data was not normally distributed yet homogeneous. It showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.01 was obtained which was lower than 0.05 which means that there was a significant difference between the students who taught by Jeopardy Review Strategy with Jeopardylabs media and Hangman Strategy with conventional media. Furthermore, the control class mean was 71.4 while the experimental class mean was 80.3. It can be concluded that the Jeopardy Review Strategy and JeopardyLabs can improve students’ reading comprehension. Hence, this strategy can engage the students in the learning process from the result of the questionnaire and interview.
